Cruciate Ligament Disease - usually a partial tear or rupture of the crancial cruciate ligament in the knee (stifle) joint is unfortunately not uncommon in dogs. Partial tears can heal with Scenar treatment but there is still instability of the joint until it is strong again. AOC manufacture a whole range of braces and supports for other joints and the back too, as well as wheels for dogs that are paralysed in their hind end for whatever reason. Although more expensive, custom products are obviously best because they fit your dog and minimise the risk of injury that might result from poorly fitting units. For that reason, although AOC manufacture generic braces too they are only recommended for relatively short term use and for minor situations that will heal and recover more quickly as per the table below.

It is not suitable to leave dogs in cars during sunny weather and to just wind down the windows.
